Ylva Staalnacke going strong

After two podiums at the first European Cup slalom in Trysil in December, Ylva Staalnacke is back on the podium again! At the EC giant slalom competition in Zinal the swedish skier placed 2nd on saturday’s race and 1st on sunday.

5 years after her last victory in Zinal, Ylva Staalnacke managed to beat her competitors Roberta Melesi and Franziska Gritsch and finished 1st. The sun was shining and provided perfect conditions for her first run leaving her in top position. On her second run Ylva managed to defend her 1st place and won the overall competition.

Swedish skier Ylva Staalnacke is more than happy looking back the past weeks. “For me, qualifying for the second run in 4 out of 4 slalom races feels like the greatest victory of all. It took me 5 years and 37 World Cup starts to get here (…).“, she is stating on her official Instagram account. Ylva could also collect her first giant slalom points in Kronplatz .
