Andri Ragettli on top of the podium again in first FIS World Cup slopestyle event in Stubai, Austria.

With the current Covid lockdown in place in Austria there were many restrictions to get this event up and running in Austria and create a safe bubble for the athletes and organisers to ensure the event to run smoothly.  Celebrations were somewhat toned down due to protocols with distancing however it still ended up an event with good vibes and high level skiing amongst the riders.

Andri Ragettli's  World Cup victory in Stubai was his 20th world cup podium and his 8th World Cup win.  He had an impressive second run where he increased the difficulty on his run.   His technical ability throughout the course and clean style set him up for the top spot on the podium.  In 2nd place was Christian Nummedal (NOR) and 3rd Ferdinand Dahl (NOR).

MDV team member Nick Goepper just missed the podium and placed 4th overall.  Also in the top 16 was William Borm in 11th, Oystein Braaten 13th and Hannes Rudiger in 16th who made it to his first World Cup finals.

Andri Ragettli (SUI) - “It was a pretty tough day, practice was a bit windy, which made things hard. I changed my run for my first final run, went a bit easier, landed that one perfect and I was sitting in second place, so I knew if I could do my more difficult run I could end up in first place. I believed in myself and did the run perfect from top to bottom, and yeah I’m super stoked. It was an amazing day and all the riders killed it. It’s my eighth World Cup win and 20th World Cup podium, so I’m proud.” - FIS freestyle skiing
